We all love to cut, stick, trim, punch, stitch, tear, layer, draw, write, plan, print, photograph and create.
We all love to craft - especially with paper and fabrics.
But often, our dedication to our Craft can result in personal injury.
We all know the risks involved in our Crafts... yet we bravely go forth and create, regardless of the personal dangers...

A GREAT 10. yOU COULD ADD, SKIN PEELING OFF FINGERS DUE TO ALLERGY TO DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE - WISH I COULD FIND A DECENT ALTERNATIVE. TAPE RUNNERS ARE GREAT BUT SO EXPENSIVE
ReplyDeleteLove these,Lizzie...my last one was burnt finger with hot glue gun.
ReplyDeleteLove your post. I havn't sustained many injuries but do regulary bang my head on the desk whilst looking for things on the floor I've dropped.!
ReplyDeleteWow, so far I've got 3 more to add to the list... Top 13 Crafting Injuries... what next?!
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Sue, my studio still resembles a disaster zone. We bought a large cupboard, but there is stuff all over and I really, really need to tidy up!! It's a project on the List for Very Soon, as we need to fit a sofa-bed in there before Christmas!
Wow, can't top that last one, what a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteMy addition, testing molten UTEE to see if still soft enough to stamp into. Took the skin off my fingertip!
Great post idea. :D

Great post - terrible disaster!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great list, although a little painful!
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh! i love the way you have them ranked according to pain factor. And I'm very glad to see that the earthquake hasn't put you off crafting for life!
ReplyDeleteTRAPPING FINGER IN DIE CUTTER??!!! Really?! Ohmygosh that one made me cringe the most! The earthquake one made me sad. Here's to no more injuries or eathquakes :)
ReplyDeleteI laughed at these, and winced with remembered pain at many! Thankfully I haven't had to deal with an earthquake! Hope it all turned out ok for you.
ReplyDeleteWorst ever for me is jabbing myself with a needle under the fingernail - OW! It has happened more than once and gets no less painful.
Fun post...I caught my finger in the guillotine the other day...fortunately(?) my nail got most of the damage!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
What a fun post Lizzie :o) I think I have experienced most of your top ten, except the earthquake!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the laugh!! I enjoyed your post so very much! I can say I've suffered a few of these as well, but thankfully not the earthquake!
ReplyDeleteLoved your funny post... sorry it made me laugh so much :D
ReplyDeleteHey Ann, that was the idea - glad I was successful!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. I had some fun writing this (with some collaboration from DS, who thought of a couple of the good ones!)
LOL! I can't tell you how many times I have burnt my fingers on my hot glue gun
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute. :D The LSS lady and I were just talking about injuries the other day. She had a couple of bad glue-gun burns on her fingers. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this post.
Now why didn't I think of glue-guns? I guess because I dont have one. Still... Ouch!
ReplyDeleteLooks like this list could just grow and grow...
The best ever one for me is a friend who managed a paper cut inside her nose. NO I don't know how she did it, just thinking about it makes me wince and laugh at the same time.
ReplyDeleteOw! Yes, I can relate to too many of these... Thankfully no earthquakes yet!
ReplyDeleteI laughed and laughed as I read this...So many memories! Broken toe from stubbing on Bookcase of Craft Books, Sliced Thumb with craft knife (But never caught in die cutter thankfully!) etc. It's so nice that you are able to (hopefully) smile about your misfortunes, including the earthquake.
