Wednesday Worktable 4th May

I thought I would show you what is on and next to my desk just now.  I have so many projects on-the-go!

A pile of pages, boards and bookcloth pieces, for small and large photograph albums.

Pages for three books, plus a set of covers for one Japanese stab-stitch album.

Two commission projects - bookcloth pieces for a Wedding Guest book and covers and pages for a Japanese stab-stitch Wedding Album - the "Birds & Butterflies".  Also another Coptic-stitched Guest book with the "Birds & Flowers" paper on the covers.

The current binding project - a 10-needle Coptic-stitched Guest Book, with Birds & Butterflies paper on the covers, strawberry red lining papers, stitched with red linen thread.

Currently I have 13 books at various stages of production.  Three of these are commission items, one is a gift for a friend - a New Baby photo album - the rest are stock items for my Etsy shop.

I'm also writing course notes for a "Make a Monkey" workshop day - teaching 9-15 year-olds to make Sock Monkeys; and tomorrow I have to finish the "blurb" (and decide for definite on a title!) for a workshop day in July, teaching ladies how to make some simple books, using fabric on the covers.  I also need to make samples for the same workshop, to be displayed in the shop where the workshop will be held, a materials list to be given to students and my notes for teaching the workshop.

I think I've got enough work to be going on with... :-)

  5. Well, I'm mid-way through the info sheet for the Bookbinding course - essential for publicity/bookings! I then have 2 weeks to make the samples and 10 weeks before the course (17th July), to do my planning and notes, get materials organised etc.
Sock Monkeys is in 2 weekends' time (21st May), so I need to do the course notes and a sample Monkey or two (already have 3, which helps!).
Still waiting to hear from customers about their items - design decisions etc. so can't do any more on those projects just now - I can fill my time anyway!! They are Wedding albums, for August weddings, so not a big panic yet.
The remaining projects are not time-restricted, though it would be good to put some new stock in my shop some time soon!

Thanks ladies, I'm trying to be organised, but not overdo it!
